So here's a look at making my soap.
For this soap I have decided to use purple soap coloring and lavender and cedar scent. .
To do that I use freezer paper.
Here is my mould...
I have to get the freezer paper in the mould so its nice and smooth and covers all sides...
And here it is all ready to go. .
Just make sure to tape the sides down so the paper stays snug in your mould and out of your way.
For my smaller mould it has a silicone lining... so its pretty easy to line.
And here they are! My soap recipe will fill both of these nicely.
In this bucket i have my oils that are liquids at room temperature..
Here are my solid oils. . These need to be melted... then added to the liquid oils.
Here is my colour dissolved in a little oil my lye and some sea salt..
While my solid oils are melting I dissolve my lye and salt... when it's clear and everything is dissolved it's about ready.
Almost there!
There is a little in the bottom that still needs to dissolve.
If you wind up with a few particles that just don't want to dissolve... you can just filter them out before adding the solution to the oil mix.
All my oils mixed and lye solution added.
Just beginning to mix them.
And I missed a few steps because I only have two hands and need them both to make and pour soap. ... so! Here it is in the mould.
The lighter purple was made using white to lighten up the purple, then added seperatly then swirled with a stick to make the design...
The inside will be a different story... to see that it will need to get cut.. that will be added tomorrow.
